The following information is being provided for all property owners, new and existing, in the hope of increasing their knowledge of the Property Tax Process. We will attempt to address as many of the frequently asked questions as we are aware of. Secured Property Annual tax bills are prepared and mailed by the Treasurer and Tax Collector in October of each year. The first installment of your property tax bill is due on November 1 and becomes delinquent after 5:00 p.m. on December 10. The second installment of your tax bill is due February 1 and becomes delinquent after 5:00 p.m. on April 10. Each installment is subject to penalties if not received by the Treasurer and Tax Collector by the aforementioned dates and the second installment is also subject to costs in addition to penalties if not paid timely. Payments are processed upon receipt and posted to the Tax Roll. Processing times may vary during peak periods. To locate the amount of your Current Year Secured Taxes, go to How much are my property taxes? and enter your Assessor's Identification Number. This information and is available between October 1 and June 30 only. To locate the amount of your Delinquent Secured Taxes, go to How much are my delinquent secured taxes? and enter your Assessor's Identification Number. This information is not available during the month of July. The Treasurer and Tax Collector offers several payment options including online payments. Go to Payment Options. Payment amounts can be found on the tax bill stubs. Each stub, one for first and one for second installment, carries the amount due for the applicable installment. If you are missing your tax bill, please fill out Secured Property Taxes Public Response Form. Be sure to fill in as much information as you can. The property address and the Assessor's Identification Number are critical to successfully providing you with all the information you request. If you have your Assessor's Identification Number you can retrieve your current year tax amounts by accessing the Payment Information module on our homepage. Property Tax Postponement Program Due to the current budget crisis, the State of California has suspended the Homeowner and Renter Assistance, and the Property Tax Postponement Programs. As a result, no new applications will be accepted. However, you may still qualify to open a payment plan with the Treasurer and Tax Collector. Homeowner and Renter Assistance Program Due to the current budget crisis, the State of California has suspended the Homeowner and Renter Assistance, and the Property Tax Postponement Programs.
