2016-17 Secured Property Taxes Second Installment Period
Credit and Debit Card Service Fee Increases for Property Tax Payments -
On March 12, 2017, service fees for credit and debit card Secured Property Tax payments
will increase. This increase is primarily driven by the online third party payment
processor for Secured Property Tax credit card and debit card payments. The

Tax Postponement News
- IMPORTANT INFORMATION! On October 1, 2016, the State
Controller's Office began accepting applications for the new Property Tax Postponement
Program for Senior Citizens and Disabled Citizens.
APPLY EARLY! This program has limited funding and the State will be approving applications
on a first come, first served basis and all who qualify may not be approved.
You must include your 2016-17 Annual Secured Property Tax Bill with your application;
we began mailing the 2016-17 Annual Secured Property Tax Bills on October 3, 2016.

Los Angeles County Tax Collector reminds taxpayers that property
tax payments must
be received or postmarked by the delinquency date to avoid penalties. If a payment
is received after the delinquency date, with no postmark, the payment is considered
late and penalties will be imposed, in accordance with State law. Taxpayers who
send a payment by mail are cautioned that the United States Postal Service only
postmarks certain mail depending on the type of postage used, and may not postmark
mail on the same day deposited by a taxpayer. To assist taxpayers in understanding
how to avoid penalties that could result from postmark issues, the Tax Collector
has compiled important related information on how to Avoid Penalties by Understanding
accept online electronic check (eCheck), credit and debit card
payments for current and defaulted taxes, business license renewals and delinquent account collections.

left side of this page to begin. Please note that there are processing fees for
using the credit and debit card options for tax payments. There are no fees for
